At 2:00 pm on June 23, the School of Mechanical Engineering held the 2019 Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferment Ceremony in Yanghua Lecture Hall of Emei Campus. General secretary of school party committee DONG Dawei, Deputy Dean XU Jianing, Deputy Dean ZENG Donghong, Deputy Dean TIAN Huaiwen, Deputy Director FENG Jian, Deputy Director ZENG Xiangguang, teacher Representative, and all 305 undergraduate graduates attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Dean Meng Fanchun.
At the beginning of the ceremony, all the participants stood up and sang the national anthem. Student representative Zhang Yifei have a speech. He reviewed four years of college life from his own experience. He said: "I have dreamed of, been decadent, and struggled for four years in college, finally fund the colorfulness is youth. I wish you all a happy graduation”.
Teacher representative Tang Yang had a speech. All the places you’ve ever been are still there accompanied by your simple, hardworking, innocence, perseverance, boldness and bravery, but you’re going to leave. Welcome you to come back to have a tea in ten years.
Next, Professor Dong from the School of Mechanical Engineering issued a degree certificate to all graduates, showing the care and blessings from the school to all graduates.
Later, Prof. Dong congratulated the graduates, and put forward several requirements for the graduates:
First: Study hard, learn with thinking, practice what you learn, and be creative. Prof. Dong hopes that students clearly realize that learning is the eternal theme of life, and learning should become the pursuit of all of us in our lives. The development of society, the advancement of science and technology, and the update of knowledge require us to learn; improving self-cultivation, perfecting ourselves, and pursuing loftiness require us to learn; serving the motherland, serving the people, and revitalizing China require us to learn.
Second, love your job, work hard, serve the motherland, and contribute to society. Prof. Dong hopes that all students will be diligent in their work and dedication, and will dedicate themselves to nurturing our motherland and people.
Third, Prof. Dong hopes that students will continue to enhance their awareness of competition, responsibility, efficiency, democracy and the rule of law, and diligently learn, be brave in practice, lay a solid foundation, catch the opportunities, and contribute to the great development of the Chinese nation.
The ceremony came to an end in the school song. So far, the 2019 undergraduate graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony of the College of mechanical engineering has been completed successfully.
